New Universal App Store Launched by Microsoft with windows 10 suppport

Ahead of the highly anticipated launch of the Windows 10 operating system, Microsoft has launched the universal app store (via Windows Central) for Windows and Windows 10 apps. The app store lists all the apps from both the Windows and Windows Store, offering users with a single place to download apps for both platforms.

Starting today, users browsing the old Windows Phone Store will be redirected to the Windows Phone section of the new app store. The change is slowly taking place for regions -- we were shown the same old store when we tried opening the local Windows Phone store, but browsing the US store takes you to the new web store. However, the Xbox link still redirects users to the Xbox.com website.

As far as the looks are concerned, the new web app store offers a intuitive and clean design with different categories to help you navigate through the app store. Microsoft's vision of the universal app store gives us a glimpse of how the company plans to move forward by providing users with a single place for everything they need with Windows 10.

Windows 10 is set to launch on July 29th with the Mobile version of the platform expected to launch in the coming months. Rumors suggest Microsoft will hold a separate event in late-September to launch Windows 10 Mobile officially, alongside new Lumia devices.
